HILTON HEADS TO KENTUCKY

Designer Hilton Hollis is on the road yet again and he’s headed to Kentucky with  fresh new signature pieces to add to our favorite contemporary classics. We had a chat with him en route from Tennessee. Hilton is as generous as he is charming! Here’s what he had to say:

CM: Hi Hilton! What’s new this spring?

HH: Spring for me is the season of renewal, and now more than ever! Everyone’s ready to get out, get social – and get dressed up again.

CM: I second that! Can you explain how this concept of renewal translates into your designs?

HH: For me, it means adding a bit of whimsy and joy to the classics. I’m thinking of the flouncy, asymmetrical peplum in our Pink Cotton Tech Peplum Dress. Or the shimmer in the stripes of our Opalescent Stripe Dress, with its feminine three-quarter pouf sleeve. We want to have some fun!

These are designs of our time, for our times, for women who want to dress for their generation. And no one needs to compromise comfort for style! It all comes down to tailoring: attention to detailing with the best technical fabrics globally sourced from Portugal, France, Italy and Japan. This means the clothes stretch and move with you.

CM: What’s your favorite piece in the HH lookbook?

HH: Have you seen our Shacket?? It’s a shirt-jacket made with a luxurious technical fabric that hangs (and breathes) on the body, just like silk. Paired with cargo pants in the same material, we find ways to elevate the everyday. Clients tell me these pieces are “the most comfortable thing in my closet,” and yet they’re also the epitome of good taste
